Most of the self-published books on Kindle that I've bought have been duds, but not The Hero. Interestingly, it begins as a romance, then morphs into a mystery/thriller that I couldn't put down. Retired reporter Ken Crowe has woven together a great story and engaging characters, with just enough color to securely anchor it in time and place. This could easily be the basis for a Matt Damon film.Product details

This was one of the better suspense novels I've read this year. Well done Author, can't wait to read next endeavor.
For me the characters we believeable and interesting. It caught me off gaurd with the time setting but made it very more interesting to read. Only a couple of misspellings (less than 4 that i found) compared to other books for the same price range which made the book that much better..The book is much better than the cover would suggest in my opinion.
Set in the 50's. Recycled book of possible MKUltra CIA conspiracy story. Ok novel just not that exciting over two main charachters.
I am trying to get through this book because the characters are good and the story seems engaging. Unfortunately there are so many punctuation errors the flow is completely chaotic. Bold text goes on for ages... no quotation marks. Mr. Crowe, if you would get an editor on this, you might have a bestseller.
What a take on the definition of hero. Crowe hit the mark on this one in a way no one has come close to yet. If you though you had your own definition of what a hero is made of, I suggest reading this book. It may complete throw a wrench in all you thought you knew.
KCC has written an unsuspecting love story between a well known author and a book store owner. The book store owner, a man, is stalked and makes a decision contrary to the legalities of the law. This it's an excellent read for th genre.....ER
This book was hard for me to be engaged in until about 50% of the way through. I found the book to be a bit scattered or bouncy between characters. The 2nd half of the book started to pull things together a bit more, but the ending was a tad predictable. I would say this is an okay read.
